A long time wood worker, Bruce discovered chip carving in the mid 1980’s. A chance meeting with Wayne Barton at a wood working tool show opened the door to an entirely new facet of working with wood. Since that time he has attended several week-long classes in the art of chip carving design and implementation. Along with his wife Judy, he has made four trips to Switzerland to view and study chip carving in its native environment.
Soon after the teaching began, students started asking for a source for tools, projects, and patterns. Today this has grown into a large line of items devoted strictly to the art of chip carving. As well as attending several shows in the Midwest every year, mail ordered merchandise is shipped throughout the United States and Canada. Most importantly, Bruce continues to build and carve items on a regular basis, both for show competitions and for the many customers who now enjoy owning their own carvings.
